The aesthetic of the Victorian Arts and Crafts movement, particularly the work of Scottish architect and artist Charles Rennie Mackintosh, is elegantly reflected in the labels of our Mount Beautiful wines.
This tradition, which held that there is no distinction between fine and applied art, is still influential in the US and Europe and has been embraced by the Teeces for many years. They incorporated elements of the arts and crafts tradition into their Nelson home, which won the New Zealand Home of the Year Award in 2000.
The principles of arts and crafts are applicable to winemaking. The tradition is committed to being true to the intrinsic qualities of the raw materials used and gives full recognition to the role of the craftsman – values to which we are committed at Teece Family Vineyards.
