For some years now, US-based businessman David Teece has been investing back into his homeland of New Zealand, buying or establishing endeavours such as forestry developments, a South Island high country station and residential properties. For his family's wine venture, David and his wife, Leigh, established a company called Teece Family Vineyards, pulling together a project team to create and manage a successful vineyard in the South Island.
Teece Family Vineyards established its first vineyard in North Canterbury, naming the vineyard and the wine after a nearby landmark, Mt Beautiful. The Teece Family vision of establishing a globally viable business may well see other suitable vineyard sites being developed in future.
