Murray Paterson

Murray Paterson provided the design of the Mt Beautiful vineyard from the outset of the project, providing expert guidance on development of the site and the planting of the vines. A veteran of 31 vintages dating back to 1972, Murray completed a Dip.Hort. (Vit.) at Chas. Sturt University in 1984. He worked for a number of major Australian wine companies before coming to ply his trade in New Zealand. He contributed to some of the country’s most famous wines, including Gibbston Valley, Chard Farm and Rippon in Central Otago and Grove Mill, Highfield and others in Marlborough. He has also done consulting work in California’s Napa Valley and in Chile.
